WHERE YOUR MIND GOES, REALITY FOLLOWS...
Our eager children have a real thirst for learning and our excellent staff team are committed and dedicated in ensuring that each and every child achieves. We have high standards and expect the best.
At Maria Montessori House we strive to provide education that is holistic and incorporates the unique identity of each individual.
When I started teaching at Maria Montessori House, I fell in love with the ethos of school and how that ethos fosters independence, originality and growth in every individual.
I believe that education is a tool for the empowerment of a learner.
As Maria Montessori said: The greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, “The children are now working as if I did not exist.”
It is my responsibility to create an environment that maintains our ethos and together with our phenomenal team of staff, learners and parents, we make Maria Montessori a home.

My teaching career started while on the search for a preschool for my 18-month old daughter. While on a tour around one preschool, I was instantly drawn to beautifully crafted environment that had trays with different objects on child-sized shelves. The whole classroom was designed for the children. As soon as I got home, I googled “trays on shelf – teaching” and the word Montessori popped up. During my search, I was drawn to the key phrases such as ‘self-directed activity’; ‘hands-on learning’; ‘self-made self-esteem’; ‘children make creative choices in their learning’; ‘the child develops a life-long love of learning’ and so much more.
I spent a tremendous amount of time researching the Montessori method of teaching and came across a course to learn more about the pedagogy and signed up immediately. Once I started the practical side of the course, I knew immediately that this was my true calling… to be a Montessori Directress.
Everyday that I am at Maria Montessori House I aim to be a positive and inspiring role model who guides the children towards self-study, independence and self-confidence. I want to see challenges as learning opportunities and to find creative solutions to these challenges.
I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to live and share the vision of Maria Montessori House with the children, wonderful team of colleagues and our families.
